Four-hands menu with Ansils and Casanova

Hands Against Cancer is a charitable gastronomic event launched by Iris and Bruno Jordán of Restaurante Ansils in the Aragonese Pyrenees and Andrés Torres of Restaurante Casanova in Barcelona. Its aim is to raise funds for the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, with the goal of improving the quality of life of cancer patients through nutrition.

During cancer treatment, eating can cease to be a pleasure. Nausea, loss of appetite, and changes in taste can make something as everyday as sitting down to a meal a struggle. For thousands of patients in Spain, food is one of the most silent challenges of the process.

“We combine hunger with the will to live” is the phrase that represents this charitable initiative, created to raise awareness and improve a little-known reality: the relationship between people with cancer and food.

The funds raised will cover the project’s production costs (logistics, communication, audiovisual production, and event organization) so that all net profit can be donated to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. Every euro you contribute has a clear purpose. If we don’t reach the minimum goal, the crowdfunding campaign will be canceled, and you’ll get your contribution back. If we exceed the target, the surplus will directly increase the donation to the AECC and the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona.
