Andrés Torres wins the Commitment Award at La Vanguardia’s 2024 Comer Awards

At a time when we are witnessing an unimaginable escalation of war, La Vanguardia’s gastronomic channel also wanted to be critical of the use of hunger as a weapon of war. It has done so through the Commitment Award, which was presented by Javier Torres, chef and co-owner with his brother Sergio of the Barcelona restaurant Cocina Hermanos Torres, and which was awarded to the chef Andrés Torres. Hundreds of people work to attend to the projects distributed across a dozen countries of the NGO Global Humanitaria, founded by this chef (he runs a restaurant in the Penedès) and social worker who has carried out enormous work in favour of food security.
